Dit weekend, 19, 20 en 21 Januari 2018, vond het Open Nederlands Kampioenschap ijszwemmen plaats in Volendam. Blik op NOS-journaal was erbij en maakte in samenwerking met JDTV onderstaande impressie.

Victoria (Left), from Mendoza, Argentina, and Andrea from England, both have a day off on the Saturday. Saturday is the day for the distances from 100 till 500 meters. Andrea participated on Friday at the ice-mile: 1500 meters. She set a time of around 30 minutes. Victoria will swim on Sunday when the 1000 meters takes place. Victoria specially travelled from Argentina to Prague to train a couple of months in the Check capital for ice-swimming. And this weekend she travelled from Prague to Volendam (Holland) to participate in the Dutch Open.
The event undoubtedly took place in Volendam, a small town at some 25 kilometers North of Amsterdam. Volendam has a rich culture, also regarding typical dress of which this beuatiful lady is a fine example.
